It’s full steam ahead for Thornbury High School’s $14.901m new Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Centre, a project funded by the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) on behalf of the State Government of Victoria.
Thornbury High School has been delivering on a transformative masterplan to reimagine its campus, expand learning opportunities for students, and provide the local community with access to first-class learning, sporting and performance facilities.
Stage 2 of the redevelopment includes the construction of a new two-level Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Centre plus the upgrade and modernisation of existing school facilities.
The cutting-edge STEAM Centre will provide a purpose-built learning environment which includes modern teaching, break out and presentation spaces; science laboratories; as well as a ceramics, textiles, food technology and fabrication workshop.

Construction commenced on the site in April with excavation works underway. The project is due for completion in Quarter 3, 2023.
Bridge42 has been engaged to manage the project from schematic design through to the tender documentation, contractor procurement and construction delivery stages.
The Thornbury High School STEAM Centre and modernisation works is one of four projects Bridge42 is currently delivering for VSBA.
