As a Duke of Ed Employer, we acknowledge that the skills gained through the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award global youth development program are those sought by employers; important 21st century skills such as communication, teamwork, responsibility, community mindedness, resilience and leadership.
Becoming a Duke of Ed Employer provides:
- time saved recruiting by shortlisting the best;
- improved employee retention rates; and
- builds a positive workplace culture and reputation.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (the Duke of Ed) is the global leader in the organising and accrediting of non-formal education through its flagship ‘Duke of Ed Award Framework’. This Framework has been used to accredit the non-formal learning outcomes and achievements of young people.
Since 1956, the program has developed and grown internationally and now reaches young people in 130 countries.
The Duke of Ed’s International Award Office Australia is a national organisation focused on supporting young people to thrive. It collaborates with a network of Award partners and volunteers, including schools, organisations, governments and businesses, to support Australian youth in meeting new challenges, gaining important life skills, and realising their potential.

“In our role at Bridge42 as consultants to a diverse client base across a range of projects, it requires a combination of both ‘technical skills’ and ‘human skills’.
“That is why life skills and the ability to solve complex problems are just as important as the tertiary qualifications our team possess.
“We regard candidates with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award as having a rounded capacity to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.”
