01  Acknowledgement

This Privacy Policy is published on the website of Bridge42 Pty Ltd (ACN 105 375 184) and may be updated from time to time. By continuing to deal with Bridge42 Pty Ltd you accept this Policy as it applies, from time to time.

 

02  Purpose

This Policy outlines how Bridge42 Pty Ltd (Bridge42) and its offices, branches and related companies’ uses and manages personal information that is provided to it and that it collects. It is also a guide to Bridge42’s staff as to the standards to be applied in respect of handling personal information and ensures consistency in the Company’s approach to privacy.

Bridge42 is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and will collect, use and retain personal information in accordance with those principles.

Bridge42 reserves the right to and may, from time to time, review and update this Policy to take into account new laws and technology, changes to the Company’s operations and practices, and to make sure the Policy remains current and relevant.

 

03  Scope

This Policy applies to Bridge42 Pty Ltd and any employee, director, contractor or consultant who handles personal information on its behalf. It covers personal information collected, used, stored or disclosed in the course of Bridge42’s business activities, including information relating to clients, prospective clients, suppliers, job applicants and website users.

 

04  Privacy Officer and Enquiries

Bridge42 has appointed a Privacy Officer responsible for overseeing compliance with this Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

05  What is Personal Information?

Personal information means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information or opinion is true or not, and whether the information is recorded in material form or not.

 

06  What is not Personal Information?

Information where Bridge42 has removed any reference to an individual is not personal information, provided that the identity of the individual can no longer be ascertained. Employee records are recognised as personal information. However, under the Privacy Act, certain obligations may not apply to employee records where they directly relate to a current or former employment relationship. Bridge42 will nevertheless handle employee records responsibly and in accordance with applicable legal obligations.

 

07  Anonymity and Pseudonymity

Where lawful and practicable, you may interact with Bridge42 anonymously or by using a pseudonym, including when making general enquiries through our website.

However, in many circumstances (for example, when providing professional services, recruitment activities or responding to job applications), Bridge42 will require personal information in order to deliver services or comply with legal obligations.

 

08  Notification of Collection

At or before the time we collect personal information (or as soon as practicable afterwards), Bridge42 will take reasonable steps to notify individuals of:

  1. our identity and contact details;
  2. the purpose for which the information is collected;
  3. whether the collection is required or authorised by law;

Bridge42 uses and discloses personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected.

Bridge42 may also use or disclose personal information for a secondary purpose where an individual would reasonably expect such use or disclosure and where it is related to the primary purpose of collection, or where otherwise permitted or required by law.

 

10  Cookies

Cookies are a small text file that our website may place on your computer to collect information such as your internet protocol address, your computer’s operating system, browser type and traffic patterns. You may adjust your internet browser to disable cookies, or inform you when one is being used. If you choose to disable cookies, you may be unable to access certain areas of our website.

Sometimes our website contains links to other websites for your convenience and information. When you access a website other than our website, please understand that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of that site.

 

11  Security of Personal Information

Bridge42 takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Bridge42 will also take reasonable steps to destroy or de‑identify personal information once it is no longer required for any purpose for which it may be used or disclosed, unless retention is required by law.

 

12  Transfer of Personal Information Overseas

We do not currently transfer to or store personal information in countries outside of Australia. We do not currently intend to do so in the future. If our policy in this regard changes in the future, we would update this policy so please check it from time to time.

 

13  Government Related Identifiers

Bridge42 does not adopt, use or disclose government related identifiers (such as Medicare numbers or passport numbers) except where required or authorised by law.

 

14  Quality of Personal Information

Bridge42 takes reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information it collects, uses or discloses is accurate, up to date, complete and relevant.

 

15  Access and Correction

Individuals may request access to personal information held about them and may request correction of that information.

Where Bridge42 refuses access or correction, we will provide written reasons for the refusal and information about available complaint mechanisms.

 

16  Privacy Complaints

If you believe Bridge42 has breached the Australian Privacy Principles or this Privacy Policy, you may lodge a complaint by contacting the Bridge42 Privacy Officer.

Bridge42 will investigate complaints and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
