Bridge42 Associate Director, Nick de Vries, has been appointed to lead the Australian consulting firm’s Perth office as the new WA State Manager, effective from 1 January 2023.

Nick de Vries will be responsible for Bridge42’s Western Australian operations and oversee its Perth-based property advisory, development and project management consultants from the company’s 60-strong national team. He will also contribute to delivering on corporate strategy and growth targets as part of the Executive Management Team.

In making this appointment, Andrew Durkin, Bridge42 Managing Director, said, “As we enter Bridge42’s twentieth year of operations, it is a momentous time for our company, and there was absolutely no doubt that Nick was the right person to now lead our Perth team.”

“Since joining the business in 2010, Nick has proven himself as a trusted and highly respected leader who genuinely cares about his team, his clients and his work,” Mr Durkin said.

“In transitioning this responsibility from Anna Broughton, Director, and previous State Manager, it importantly allows Anna to focus on delivering Bridge42’s 2026 strategy.”

Anna Broughton said she had complete confidence in handing over the reins.

“Nick has already been heavily involved in the company’s business development, operational improvement, client relationship management and team performance activities, so it was a natural progression for him to step up into this important leadership position,” Mrs Broughton said.

“It has been a delight to see Nick flourish within our business and the reputation he has built in our industry – I expect more big things to come.”

Commenting on his new role, Mr de Vries said it had been a great 12-year journey with Bridge42.

“I am looking forward to this next chapter and the opportunities it presents as we all emerge from the COVID-related challenges and economic uncertainty of the last few years,” Mr de Vries said.

“While it has certainly been a very challenging period for our industry, I am proud about the way our business has been able to support our staff and clients to continue delivering great outcomes.

“I am particularly excited for the upcoming move into our new inner-city office, located within a beautifully restored heritage building, which is generating a lot of buzz in anticipation.

“Having been part of various landmark projects in the Perth CBD over the years – including Perth City Link, Forrest Chase, Raine Square and Golden Square – it will be fantastic to be in the heart of the action and with better access to many of our clients and industry colleagues.

“I am committed to building upon the long history and strong reputation Bridge42 has established in the Western Australian market and ensuring we are a key player in shaping, guiding and realising Perth’s evolution into a truly vibrant, global city.”

Mr de Vries has more than 21 years of experience in the construction and development industries gained in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. With an enviable record in leading major, complex and highly successful projects, his diverse experience includes commercial, residential, mixed-use and urban redevelopment projects.

In the 2020 AIPM Project Management Achievement Awards, Mr de Vries was recognised as the ‘Senior Project Manager of the Year’ in Western Australia and nationally.
